Follow these steps carefully for your tattoo:
- Remove the bandage after two hours.
- Wash tattoo with antibacterial soap and water.
- Blot dry and let tattoo air dry for approximately 15 minutes. Rewrap tattoo with new plastic and repeat washing every 4-6 for the first 48-72 hours or until the weeping (slime) stops.
- The 8 hours while you sleep will be the longest that you will go without washing and changing the bandage.
- Make sure you wash all the slime off and let dry completely before rewrapping tattoo.
- After the weeping stops switch to UNSCENTED Curel or Luberderm lotion; apply as needed (DO NOT let the tattoo dry out!).
- Your tattoo will begin peeling similar to a sunburn within 3-4 days. Do not be alarmed, this is normal!
- Do not expose tattoo to sun for at least 30 days. Do not swim or excessively soak your new tattoo until fully healed (at least 30 days).
- If you have any questions please contact the shop that did your tattoo and we will answer any and all questions you may have!

Follow these steps carefully for your piercing:
New piercings must be thoroughly cleaned twice daily. Washing with a surgical scrub such as Hibiclens or Betadine is preferred, however if these products prove to be harsh use a low PH mild soap.
Avoid soaps which are perfumed or which contain deodorants, cold creams, etc.
Please note that matter will be secreted from the piercing during the healing period. This matter will dry on the jewelry and around the openings of the piercing.
Before washing, rinse this dried matter off using warm water or a small amount of peroxide. Lather the piercing and work the jewelry back & forth a few times, then rinse the piercing good while working the jewelry back and forth under running water to remove all excess soap. For ears, nostrils, septums and any other above the neck piercings, you should use Super Septic. DO NOT use Hibiclens on these areas, as it could cause deafness if it has contact with the inner ear.
For tongue, lips and cheek piercings rinse with Listerine EACH TIME after eating or drinking anything (with the exception of water).
1. Use Glyoxide twice a day on the piercing to aid in healing.
2. An antibiotic ointment such as Bacitricain, Neosporin or Mycitracin may be used for the first few days after the piercing or if signs of infection occur. Only use a thin coat and limit the use to no more than 10 days. You can obtain any of these products in a local drugstore.
3. The healing process can be accelerated by taking a form of Zinc Supplement. One product recommended is Vicon-C. A simple zinc supplement without additional ingredients can be just as effective & less expensive. Recommended dosage is one 50 mg. tablet 3 times a day. Once healing is complete dosage should be reduced or ceased.
4. Oral contact or handling with dirty hands on new piercings can cause infection and should be avoided during healing. Genital piercings DO NOT prohibit sex during the healing process; however men should wear a prophylactic during intercourse for good hygiene and to minimize the risk of infection.
5. New piercings should not be subjected to heavy abuse during the healing period. This pertains to all piercings but especially to the nipples.
6. While infections are infrequent, should one occur, see your physician. Signs of infection are PROLONGED soreness or pain, excessive redness and/or discharge.
7. On RARE occasions a lump may form behind a nipple piercing. If you notice a lump and it is painful or fails to disappear in a short period of time see your physician. DO NOT confuse the hard tissue which forms around the new piercing with a lump behind it.
8. Some people assume that at the end of the healing period they can remove their jewelry for a length of time and reinsert it easily. This is NOT the case. For ear, nostril & septum piercings something should be left in the piercing at all times for at least 2 months, for all other piercings at least 6 months. Even if it has healed some time is required for the piercing to "toughen up". If the jewelry is removed prematurely the inside of the piercing can be easily torn when the jewelry is reinserted. If the jewelry is removed for a short period of time it is advisable to insert a short piece of nylon fishing line until the jewelry is reinserted.
